Today is the last day to register your students for the 2023-2024 school year. Stop by the school between 9am-4pm and fill out an enrollment packet. Middle and High school students will not be able to begin sports practices until we receive their enrollment packet.
The Sierra Grande School District is seeking a Science Fair Coordinator.
The main objective of this position is to support and work with the 5th grade students and teacher. This position does not require a science degree or background but knowledge of science fair and/or the scientific method are helpful. The schedule is flexible, starting in August and finishing in February. Visits to the classroom to help students select projects and work through the scientific method. There will be weeks when more time is required especially during student project testing (end of October-November). This position is also responsible for completing and submitting the Regional Science Fair forms for elementary and assisting middle and high school students as needed with forms. You will also coordinate a local science fair for 5th grade students (middle school if needed) to prepare and select those students qualifying to attend the Regional Science Fair at Adams State University (February). A science fair mentor will be available this fall to work with you if desired. Starting stipend is $2,500.
